Call for Artist Submissions for Volunteer Resource Center’s Showcase

The Volunteer Resource Center is taking submissions for our annual awareness art showcase and alternative gift-shopping forum, Eye Contact, taking place on December 5, 2012.   The theme of the forum this year is “addressing and raising awareness about the issue of modern day slavery through art.”   We reached out to your organization because we know you’re passionate about art in various ways and would love for you to get involved with us. If you or your organization are interested in contributing to Eye Contact and displaying your art, please e-mail all submissions to volunteer@colorado.edu. In your submission please include the following:

  • The medium of the piece (photography, painting, film, written or spoken poetry, dance, sculpture, etc.)
  • The length, size, or space required for display
  • A photo/copy of the piece
  • A written description of how the piece relates to the critical issue of modern day slavery. For this, please take a minute to review the link below, to learn about what modern day slavery consists of, and the various forms in which it exists today.

All art is due November 26th however, we highly encourage early submissions!  This will be a powerful and moving event and a great opportunity to display your art to the community.

What is Modern Day Slavery?

Hope to hear from you soon,
