New Era Colorado is a non-partisan, non-profit that reinvents politics for Millennials through innovative social and political action. We are building a long-term bloc of engaged and educated young citizens across the state. By creating and advocating forward-thinking solutions, we are transforming not only how politicians will look at us, but also how we look at ourselves. It’s time that we start playing a role in how that future is determined
The internship program will involve learning the tools of social change through political and social engagement. You’ll learn the skills and strategies from New Era staff, politicians, professors, and experts in the field. The focus of the Spring semester internship will be to build community organizing campaigns to impact top-level, state-wide or local, policies.
Leadership Development Internship Track
During the internship, you can expect to:
Gain skills through a mix of both classroom setting and on the ground action
Obtain a thorough understanding of the mechanics of the legislative and political system
Organize lobby days at the Colorado Capitol
Learn how to use new media tools to get your voice heard and engage thousands of people
Utilize both online and offline forms of outreach for grassroots action
Learn from guest speakers and seasoned politicos on how to lobby, run grassroots campaigns, and enact progressive change on a state-level
Register Coloradans to vote, like bosses
