New Era Colorado Foundation is currently accepting applications for our Fall 2013 Internship Program
More about us: New Era Colorado Foundation is an innovative vehicle for hands-on democracy. We engage, educate, and train a new generation of active citizens and young leaders in Colorado. We provide the resources and tools for young people to gain collective power in the political process. We’re grassroots. We’re progressive. And we’re all about empowering our generation to lead Colorado not left, not right, but forward. We do it all with one constant: making politics fun again.
Our internship program will involve learning the tools of social change through political and social engagement. Participants will learn the skills and strategies from New Era staff, politicians, professors, and experts in the field. This fall, interns will lead the charge in creating a greener and more affordable local electric utility here in Boulder.
During the internship, you can expect to:
> Register Coloradans to vote, like bosses
> Gain skills through a mix of both classroom setting and on the ground action
> Obtain a thorough understanding of the mechanics of the political system
> Learn how to use new media tools to get your voice heard and engage thousands of people
> Utilize both online and offline forms of outreach for grassroots action
> Learn from guest speakers and seasoned politicos on how to lobby, run grassroots campaigns, and enact progressive change on a local & state-level
> Use grassroots tactics to turnout registered voters here in Colorado
