We welcome applications for the Peer Education Coordinator within the GLBTQ Resource Center. The Peer Ed Coordinator is a vital team member as they help coordinate, facilitate, and support peer to peer educational workshops about gender, sexual orientation, GLBTQIA and other social justice issues. October 2013 Volunteer Training at Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN)!
Be an Agent of Change!
Use your talents to work for peace, and support survivors and their children! Share your experience and learn new skills. In our 44-hour Paraprofessional Training, you will learn about the dynamics of abuse, how to provide support in an empowering and non-judgmental way, and how to use your time to advance positive social change…and you may be changed in the process! Become a part of the solution as we work together to end all forms of violence.
October 2013 Volunteer Training Schedule:
October training dates are: 5th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, & 26th All Volunteers/Interns providing direct client service must attend all 8 sessions, Tuesday and Thursday evenings are 6:00pm – 9 p.m. and Saturdays are 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
We rely on our volunteer/intern team in order to be able to provide all of the services we offer so having your help will make all the difference!

Speaking Out Training

Our next Speaking Out Training will take place on Sunday Oct 13, 3-7pm
at the Pridehouse. Dinner will be provided. All new Speaking Out volunteers are required to attend this training before presenting at schools. Speaking Out is an all-volunteer LGBT and Allied educational speakers’ bureau at Out Boulder. The program conducts approximately 60 community speaking engagements annually in local middle school, high school, and college classrooms and also talks with businesses, organizations and community groups. By utilizing storytelling and personal connections in panels and discussions, Speaking Out’s mission is to cultivate awareness and understanding of LGBT lives and experiences.
